Solid state drives (SSDs) are faster, quieter, more energy efficient, and produce less heat than traditional magnetic hard disk drives (HDDs). The absence of moving parts make SSDs more rugged and lighter. With the exception of cost and maximum capacity, SSDs appear to beat HDDs in every respect. But are they always the best choice?
